My First Crazy Shake

Birthdays are the perfect time for a milkshake, right? I think so. For my 21st birthday, I went to Las Vegas, and I wasn't interested in alcohol. I had my eye on the crazy shakes from Black Tap in the Venetian. I had seen pictures of these shakes everywhere, and I wanted to try one from myself. There are 5 varieties of the Crazy Shake, but I knew I wanted the Cake Shake. The catch was that the restaurant only makes two Funfetti cakes a day. Once all the cake slices had been used up, they stopped serving that shake for the day.

Black Tap was the first stop after sleeping in. There was a wait, and by the time we got in, there were only three slices of cake left! I ordered the Cake Shake immediately. Of course, when it came it looked too pretty to eat. It was about a foot tall, with tons of sprinkles and the large slice of cake as the topper.

I dug right in,and it was delicious. Well, at least for the first half. It got to be almost unbearably sweet. The cake was great, and helped to dilute the sweetness of the shake. I think I would have this shake again, but I could take a third of the amount. For the price of $17, I am glad it was so big, though.

I was glad to have tried this Crazy Shake, and I hope I can return to a Black Tap location someday to try the other four flavors. I would love to find the best shake at that restaurant. Out of the Cake Shake, Cotton Candy, Churro Choco Taco, Cookies and Cream Supreme, or Vegan Black and White, which would you try?
