Showstopper Summer

This is a throwback to two years ago. After discovering the Showstopper Shake at Zuzu in Scottsdale, I was always checking to see what the new flavor would be. It was a hot summer day in Arizona when I saw the flavor for June was Strawberry Shortcake. My mom and I jumped in the car and drove there immediately.
The shake was once again served on a platter, and was brimming with all sorts of goodies. Angel food cake, chocolate dipped strawberries, a Strawberry Shortcake ice cream bar, and lots of whipped cream. Fresh strawberries and shortcake crumbles lined the tray it was served on. It was a beautiful looking shake!
Now, I am not the biggest fan of strawberry shakes. I do enjoy the taste at times, but I don't always reach for it first. This shake, however, really hit the spot. It tasted like fresh strawberries had been mixed in and the sweetness was not overpowering. The additions on the top added nice texture changes, as well as a good flavor breakup in between bites. Maybe it was because it was over 100 degrees outside, but this was the best strawberry shake I had ever tasted.
The aesthetics of the milkshake were great, and the flavor exceeded expectations. I will definitely be back to Zuzu for future Showstopper Shakes, especially since they change every month!
